Outsourcing CAD Design - The New Upstart

As part of our sponsorship of the RMIT Business Plan Competition, the largest of its kind in Australia, we help foster new talent to emerge in the business world. Through that commitment, my firm supported start-up company and competition winners Design Assist Partners (DAP) to navigate new waters in China.

DAP provides reliable, flexible and affordable computer-aided design (CAD) services to manufacturing and industrial design companies through a low cost provider in China. By reducing development time and costs this service helps Australian companies to be competitive in a global marketplace .

To assist DAP with their commercialisation we provided advice through their critical supplier selection phase and provided the legal vehicles to establish the protection of their client’s intellectual property. This was done whilst treading carefully through the various Chinese business structures and working relationships.
